The Empordà is a frontier region that fascinates because of the landscape, the Mediterranean light, the tranquillity of the villages and the people. The light attracts the artists, and also the balance between sea and mountains and the centenary stone houses. The Empordà is full of Catalan and international artists who have chosen this region for its special charm. They are our ambassadors. Afterwards, we will move to l’Escala, a traditional fishing village where we will enjoy with a delight tapas lunch in reformed Oil Mill becomed now a restaurant with traditional Mediterranean gastronomy. After the lunch, we will be hosted by Caius, an old inhabitant from the Roman times who will come along with us to this stunning Greek and Roman sightseeing of Empúries Ruins. Last but not least, an inspirational stroll through the coastal path of Empúries with some of the best sea views of Costa Brava.
The Old Quarter or Barrio Viejo de Girona is one of the most evocative of Europe, with unique monumental elements on the continent. It is bounded by the so-called Paseo de la Muralla, the walkway of the old Carolingian walls (s. IX) and the low average age (s. XIV and XV). Its monuments include the Call (old Jewish Quarter of the best preserved in Spain); and the famous and colourful houses along the river Onyar, and above all is the cathedral, a very large single nave, which is the widest in the world in Gothic style. After the tour, and still in Girona, we will do a private lunch in one the best secreted places of Girona . An experience that you will never forget!

This benedictine monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes is located in the town of Port de la Selva in the north-east past of the region. Built at the foot of the mountain of Verdera below the ruins of the castle of San Salvador, it enjoyed an exceptional view on the bay of Roses and the Creus Cape the northeast part of the Iberian peninsula. It is a historical building with hidden secrets and mysteries and place of pilgrims along of the centuries.
We will visit with a local guide who knows every hidden place of this unique monastery. Afterwards you will have time to inspire and take time to relax and write. At midday, we continue the itinerary to the closest village where we will have lunch in a fishing restaurant. In the afternoon, an international painter artist of the region will host us and guide to see his outdoor work: the painted dock of the harbour and his atelier.
